Bio
Justen Wochnick is in his fourth season with Union, coaching the Varsity Offensive Line, and brings 27 consecutive years of high school football coaching experience. A Vancouver native and Evergreen High School graduate, Justen went on to play at Eastern Washington University and credits football with shaping both the coach and person he is today. Before joining Union, he spent 20 years coaching at Camas and also coached at Mountain View.
For Justen, coaching is about much more than technique or wins. He wants his linemen to know he genuinely cares about them and will work as hard as anyone to help them succeed, both during their playing days and long after. He values work ethic, leadership, accountability, and the brotherhood that comes from being part of an offensive line.
Some of his favorite football memories are also family memories, including coaching his son, having his daughter serve as a team manager, and sharing a state championship with his dad in the stands. Away from football, Justen is an art major whose work has been published in a book, and he enjoys drawing, painting, and RV camping at the beach with his wife Stefanie, their kids Trevor and Taryn, and their dogs Luna and Diesel.
On game day, preparation starts the night before. Before every game, he makes a point to tell his dad he loves him, then turns on TOOL to get locked in and ready to compete.
