Portia Erickson

Bio

Portia Erickson is entering her first season with Union Football as an Assistant Wide Receivers Coach and brings two years of coaching experience across football and wrestling. A Bellingham native, Portia is currently a Union High School student and also attends Clark College. She has five years of tackle football experience, five years of flag football, and has coached with Union Football, Union Girls Wrestling, Pacific Middle School Wrestling, and CCYW.

Portia enjoys the relationship side of coaching and the behind-the-scenes work that helps the team run more smoothly. She hopes players learn that something valuable can come from anyone and tries to coach with an awareness that everyone is carrying challenges others may not see.

Outside of football, Portia is an All-American wrestler, a three-time state placer, and holds several state powerlifting records. She comes from a family of four siblings, including her twin brother Ryker.

On game day, Portia believes in being prepared the night before with her clothes, snacks, and supplements ready to go, and one reminder she always keeps with her: don’t forget to smile.
